ALUTA CONTINUA in a Mozambican idiom: True of False
Hi
Came across your excellent website whike searching the Web for information on the Ghana national science curriculum.
Is there any chance you could help me with some information?
I recently graduated from Cambridge University, England, and I am coming to Ghana next month to teach science as a volunteer teacher at Bekwai for a year. Before I come I would very much like to find out a little about the science curriculum for secondary schools so that I know what kinds of books and equipment would be most use to bring with me. Can anyone at Mawuli School or in the Old Mawulians help me with this?
Quite impressive
I WAS VERY EXCITED TO SEE MAWULI WEB SITE! OR HOME PAGE; I WISH EVERY SEC. SCHOOL AT HOME WILL FOLLOW SUIT.ACTUALLY I DID NOT GO THERE. BUT MY BROTHER NICHOLAS Z. NAYO WAS A MUSIC TEACHER THERE, UNTIL 1955. I KNEW MR. TROST VERY WELL, SINCE HIS HOUSEKEEPER WAS MY GIRLFRIEND. DID YOU GUYS KNOW THAT MR NAYO PASSED AWAY IN MARCH 1993? MAY HE REST IN PEACE.GREAT WEBSITE!
Great. Enjoyed being an old student. x quando
The site isn't that bad I'll be glad if more Mawulains patronize it by signing in and joining the discussions as well.
Quite Inspiring. Proud to be a Mawulian. Wish there were more pictures of the school.
Great job. I hope it brings a greater bond between old and new mawulians
you have done agood job, whoever design the site. Mawuli school is a great shcool, so the effort to let old students and others to know about it is great. more grease to your elbow, Mawuli.
I like it
My spirit of Mawulianism was challenged. In my opinion, this is one of the greatest things that has happened to Mawuli School. Let us take advantage of this website and locate our friends, mates and colleagues and think about bringing Mawuli to a higher level. FANTASTIC WEBSITE
I WAS SURFING THE WEB AND FOUND YOUR WEBSITE AND SOME MORE INFORMATION ABOUT OUR SCHOOL. I THINK IT IS A GREAT ACHIEVEMENT . THE WEB HAS MADE IT POSSIBLE TO CONTACT ONE OF MY MATES. CHEERS!
Its terrific.....
I like the idea of creating a website for Ho Mawuli, one of the well known schools in the country that have formed so many leaders in different areas. It is sad to see that this institution falling into decay. Some of the problems mentioned in the report can be solved without any outside input: fencing, cutting the roots of trees that are covering the roads, beautification in terms of planting new trees and flowers...etc. In terms of equipment, I might be able to donate a 486 pc, if the alumni or the school could organize the transportation to Ghana. I can contact the Ghana High Commissioner to get a paper to cover the material in order to avoid customs duties. I have never attended Mawuli, but it does not matter. I know the town and the school, and we need to do something to help ourselves instead of always waiting for help from outside. It would be good, if the site could include information on Ho and area. Students would be assigned the task of writing news items and essays to be posted on the site. What do you think? I will be contacting you later for other ideas and projects.
Keep the good work, and may God bless you.
Happy New Year 2000 to you all Overseas and back home.
Salomon
great idea, excellent job!
great idea, excellent job!
Hello and greetings of success and prosperity for the brand new millennium. I just came across the Mawuli School site after another old Mawulian alerted me to it. It's really impressive and I doff my hats to the committed "volunteers" who are making it happen. In the meantime for all those abroad missing pan-African news contact http::/www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/africa for the most comprehensive coverage ... For those interested in soccer, you can follow the Cup of Nations being co-hosted by Ghana and Nigeria visiting the dynamic BBC site http::/www.bbc.co.uk/cupofnations
All the very best to you.
God bless you richly
I ONLY LOGGED IN TODAY AND I MUST SAY I WAS THRILLED TO SEE SOME NAMES I KNEW BACK IN SCHOOL. KUDOS TO ALL THOSE WHO HAVE MADE THIS POSSIBLE
Mawuli School has a website??? I guess so.
This is good.
Great idea! Do stuff like this too. Willing to help out anytime.
Great!
Great job by those who put this together. Now we can at least get in touch with some of our mates and friends. A good beggining, but we should not rest until the great Mawuli school is renovated and become the envy of the rest of the schools in Ghana. HEAD HEART AND HAND
Good idea but not an innovation. Hope the pledges and assurances Mawulians are making would be fulfilled. This is no time for talk without action. Though I have my roots more in my premier alma mater KETASCO hence a DZOLALIAN my brief association with Mawuli would not be forgotten. Catch you guys in july. Don'y forget you can get the latest news from Ghana at www.joy-online.com.gh official website of JOY99.7fm
It is very cool. Peace to all Mawulians out there. I miss u all. Have a happy anniversary.
I say hello and greetings! What a surprise to find your website. I attended Mawuli as a student from 1968 to 1969 in form 1 and 2. Congratulation to your 50th anniversary! Is it possible to come and visit? I would be happy to hear from you or anyone who still knows me. I was one of those scare white boys who rode around Ho with his bicycle with all those black kids running behind screaming yevuvi.
Thomas von Stuckrad
Great idea.Kudos to those whodid it!
Great idea.Kudos to those who did this!
Good job. Makes me proud to be an old Mawulian.
I wished I heard of this site earlier, but I'm greateful for the opportunity to get in contact with good ol'friends and in my small way help build a stronger OMSU. Once again thanks to the founding members.
This is really great!
I taught math at Mawuli from 1962 - 1965. Mr. Banini was the headmaster, and Mr. Ohene was the assistant headmaster. It would be great to learn what some of my former students are doing.
I am trying to locate Prosper Doh who married Elizabeth Ohene. If anyone knows, please respond at my email address.
Keep up the good work.
Thanks,
Henry Diehl
Great site and it is so wonderful to read about those who went to Mawuli as I did. I plan to return in July 2000 and stumbled on this web site. I have not been back to Ghana or Ho since I left in 1970 and think about it every day. Not only did I attend Mawuli but I was born there in a staff bungalow where we lived when my father taught science there (David Desmond) We were also close friends of the Trosts, Diehls, Swenkes, and Lester Weiner. I'll definitely visit this site often and everyone feel free to write me as well!! Eddie
Execellent job on launching this invaluable web site for Mawuli School. I hope the site is actually a work in Progress rather than a final product.Because, I'd like to see a fully developed contact list with addresses, current profession, phone numbers etc. You can also post a class roster for each year.
It really makes me proud to see so many of my former students doing so well! You guys and gals are trying. If any of you know of the email or postal address of: Walter Blege, Rene Tamakloe, J.K.Alovor, O.B.Dokosi, N.Z.Nayo and Dzifa Amable for starters. I plan to go on the Tour organized by Henry Diehl for the 50th Anniversary the first week of July. By the way I started teaching at Mawuli in 1952.

It's great to scroll down those names and try to remember people- and life "back then"! I taught at Mawuli 1973-78. I was the housemother for Snitker House - I was upset to to see that the name Snitker House is not used in John Thones-Amenyo"s visit report - why? If any of you that I taught and remember me would like to get in touch, I would love it. I can't get back for the 50th year Jubilee, but once I go back, I will stay there, believe me!

The last time I visited this site I spent most of the time reading correspondence about the Mawuli School Chapel. This time I have had a much closer look and I certainly apprecciate the efforts of all those involved. "GOOD ON YOU" AND KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. Curiously, I am not a Mawulian. However, all I ever heard in my household was the the fun associated with school life at Mawuli so I am interested to hear of progress in the endeavours of OMSU members. It also is nice to see the names of some people I know and have heard of over the years. Must be some people in Australia who are Mawulians???
