Fellow Mawulians: Its coming down to just one weekend out of the whole year that we are all called upon to reserve for our very dear alma mater, Mawuli School. Mawulians in North America and across the world (Ghana, United Kingdom, everywhere, etc.) are invited to the 2005 Congress of OMSU - North America.

Theme: Rebuilding Our Alma Mater Through Unity, Concerted Action, and a Sense of Purpose.

Place: Hampton Inn - Newark Airport and Garden Buffet, Union, New Jersey

Date: US Memorial Day Weekend on May 27-29, 2005.

Sec.), the cut-off date for reservations is being extended for some time. Group Name: Mawuli School. Rooms are $59 per night for single and double rooms with a complimentary continental deluxe breakfast under this group name. A hotel shuttle will be available between Hampton Inn and Garden Buffet.

Airline Arrangements: Our research shows that booking a flight at http://www.expedia.com at least 60 days before the event date comes out better than we having a group arrangement with an airline. Other Details 1. A tentative program of events would be announced after consultations with the LOC, NAOC, and the OMSU-NA Executive Council. 2. The gist of the program will include a business meeting to be held during the morning hours of May 28, 2005 at the Hampton Inn - Newark Airport and a fundraiser to be held at the Garden Buffet in Union, NJ in the evening of this same day. 3. Tickets for the fundraiser are ready to be purchased from members of the LOC at $40 a piece. Win a computer by purchasing a ticket. Donations are also welcome. 4. OMSU-NA Treasurer Doreen Williams is taking dues and donations for FY 2005/2006. She is also accepting dues and donations for FY 2004/2005. Checks made out to OMSU-NA or MANA can be mailed to her at 3062 Serenity Lane, Naperville, IL 60564. 5. More details would follow later.

Hi,

It is great to find that we something like this running in our name. the present academic standard of and in the school is appaling. The extremely high Academic standards that attracted some of us to the school has now been trown to the dogs. We all must act and act really fast. Lots of the tutors have become either very lazy or drunkards or both. I hear a certain school has been created parallel to the mainstream Mawuli school by the teachers and it is called "MASTERWAA". they make so much cash running this school that they blatantly refuse to give off their very best to the actual mawuli students. it is really sickening!!!!!!!!

HI friends, I hope you're all fine. Well, I just have one thing to say. It's all about the standard of our great school. Hmmm... I was very sad when I heard the results of the last SSSCE and Mawuli was somewhere in the 100s! It's very sad. Can we still be proud of our school? It used to be one of the best 10 in the country, but what is going on now? Can we proudly send our kids to the school? Just a fews days back, I met a young man in blue shirt with the HEAD, the HEART, and the HAND crest on his brest pocket. It was our school uniform. So I aproached him and asked if he was a Mawulian. He said yes, and I said well, I completed in 1996 and asked when he completed and he replied in Twi asking me if I was in Mawuli! I was shocked!! This meant that all that I was saying in English, he didnt understand. So I asked in Twi if he couldnt understand the English I was speaking and he replied in English "Oh, I AM HEAR YOU"! I was so sad I wanted to be sure he was not just wearing someone's uniform and found out his house and he told me many things that were pointers that he was a Mawulian. But say ONE complete sentense in English without a mistake! What is the minimum qualification now? What is going on, my brothers and sisters? Please lets see what we can do to help our school!! Can we all mobilise some funds for Mawuli School. Managers of Mawuli Fund, how do old students in Ghana get in touch with you. Mawuli School is losing its fame. Lets come together to rebuild the school. What happened to the annual visit by OMSU members from the Tertiary Institutions? That was one good programme for students in the school. What about the counselling on the courses to take at secondary school and subsequent courses at the Universities? I propose if the Fund Managers could get in touch with Mawulians in Accra alone and each member contributes 20k a month, we will have a lot of money to rebuild the school. It is a great feeling to releave the days I spent in Mawuli School. I have seen names of many people I have not seen or heard of for many years. I am still alive and kicking.
