THE CAMPAIGN FOR MAWULI SCHOOL - LETTER OF APPEAL

Dear Old Mawulian, Friend and Associate of Mawuli School:

Mawuli School will be celebrating its Golden Jubilee in the year 2000. This is a great accomplishment, for in 50 years of its existence, Mawuli has produced all types of personalities including, but not limited to farmers, nurses, medical doctors, lawyers, engineers, scientists, professors, secretaries, executive officers, government officials, military personnel, musicians, pilots, accountants, technicians, bankers and a whole host of accomplished men and women located around the globe.

Despite this laudable accomplishment however, Mawuli School of today is not the Mawuli we all were once proud of. The facilities are crumbling; the dormitories and classrooms are overcrowded, and the campus has lost much of its charm and beauty. These conditions have made it difficult for the School to continue to provide the rich and fulfilling educational environment that we enjoyed during our stay in Mawuli.

Restoring Mawuli to its former status will require a lot of work and commitment from all who are concerned and who have benefited from his or her association with this great School. Most of us believe that we can rebuild Mawuli if we get organized and establish an endowment fund (to be called Mawuli Fund). Our goal is to raise US$50,000 as start-up capital for the Fund by June 1999. Our first priority will be to provide some funds for renovation of Mawuli prior to the Golden Jubilee. The rest of the funds will be wisely and safely invested. The earnings from investment of the fund can be used to maintain the school facilities and provide scholarships and awards to deserving students and teachers in the years to come.

We are therefore appealing to you, as a member and friend of the Mawuli, to join us by contributing to the Mawuli Fund. We ask that you send no money now. Instead, fill out the attached pledge form and return it by email or post mail by December 31, 1998. We are in the process of registering the Fund as a non-profit organization in the United States. As soon as the registration is completed and a bank account is established, a notice will be sent to you by January 31, 1999 requesting you to make good on your pledges and the necessary directions to fulfilling that obligation. We expect all pledges to be honored by June 30, 1999. Please be assured that all contributions will be safeguarded and may be tax-deductible for US residents. Ultimately, we hope to raise $1 million (One Million US Dollars) in the next 10 years with campaigns at six monthly intervals.

Please, feel free to join any one of the Circles of Support suggested in the attached pledge form. We also encourage individual contributions in any form. The contributions will be acknowledged. With this help, we should regain our pride as members of the Mawuli family and the School will once again revert to its status as one of the leading educational institutions, in the world.

We appreciate your support and we hope that you will give generously. Please forward this letter to other Mawulians and friends of Mawuli and encourage them to support this very worthy cause.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

For and on behalf of the "THE MAWULI CAMPAIGN FOR MAWULI"
